Empowering the Youth, Transforming a Community Cheerful Givers is proud to sponsor the Wholistic Youth Development (WYD) – Nyahera Community Project in partnership with Life in Abundance (LIA) Kenya. This initiative is designed and operated by LIA Kenya, with funding support from Cheerful Givers, to create sustainable transformation in the lives of young people and their families in Nyahera.

In this Kenyan community, young people face immense challenges—peer pressure, identity struggles, and limited opportunities. With many families living in poverty and youth migrating to urban areas in search of work, the need for hope and opportunity has never been greater.

 

Our Mission To raise a youth-driven movement for spiritual, social, and economic transformation in Nyahera, Kisumu County.

 

Our Impact Goals

• Reach 3,000 youth with the gospel through sports and film evangelism.

• Disciple and empower 75 youth through mentorship and leadership development. - Support economic stability for 75 families through microenterprise initiatives.

 

How We Are Making a Difference

✅ Faith & Character Development – Through film screenings, discipleship programs, and sports leagues, youth will grow in their faith and life skills.

✅ Leadership & Church Growth – Training local leaders ensures long-term sustainability and a thriving church community.

✅ Economic Empowerment – Families will gain access to financial literacy programs, savings groups, and entrepreneurial training.

✅ Positive Peer Influence – Creating a safe and encouraging space for young people to develop healthy relationships.

 

Key Activities

• Equipping 5 local churches with resources to engage and mentor youth. - Hosting youth leadership and life skills workshops to develop character and responsibility.

• Organizing sports tournaments, film screenings, and interchurch events to foster community and faith.

• Establishing microenterprise programs to help families build sustainable livelihood.
