About the Program
Burundi is one of the poorest nations in the world, with the vast majority of its population relying on subsistence farming for survival. Limited access to capital, unstable food security, and economic disparity have left many families struggling to break free from the cycle of poverty.
At Cheerful Givers, we believe in the power of Christ-centered economic transformation. That’s why we are investing in farming and animal husbandry projects across Burundi—helping local families achieve financial stability while ensuring that Christ remains at the heart of the work being done.
What We’re Doing
Our agribusiness initiatives focus on sustainable, locally led projects that uplift entire communities:
✔ Avocado Farming – High-value crops that provide economic stability and long-term growth.
✔ Row Crops – Staple foods that ensure food security while creating income opportunities.
✔ Pig Farming – A profitable livestock venture that helps families build financial independence.
Our Approach: Church-Led, Community-Driven
We partner directly with local churches and their Savings and Loan Associations (SLAs) to ensure that every investment is stewarded well and that Christ remains at the center of economic renewal. These church-led SLAs provide:
✅ Micro-loans and capital for farmers to start and expand their work.
✅ Financial training to equip families with long-term business skills.
✅ Spiritual discipleship to integrate faith into everyday economic life.
